114 shot, 14 killed in Chicago over the weekend

“The pain of losing a child never goes away,” the democratic Mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot tweeted Saturday. “As a mother, I am tired of the funerals. I am tired of burying our children.”

With at least 114 people shot and 14 killed this was yet another bloody weekend in Chicago, including a 1-year-old boy who was hit by a bullet while riding in a car in Englewood, and a 10-year-old girl who was hit by a stray bullet in her home in Logan Square.
A third child was also shot Saturday night but survived. Police were called to Wood Street near Marquette Road in West Englewood, where an 8-year-old girl was grazed in the head.
