Obama Waited 13 Hours To Help In Benghazi, Trump Waited 13 Minutes To Help In Iraq (Opinion)

In 2012, it took 13 hours for President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to send help to Americans at the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi. By the time backup arrived, it was too late — four Americans were killed, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

With President Donald Trump, the era of timidity and lenience is over — he sent help to the besieged U.S. Embassy in Baghdad in just minutes.

100 Marines arrived overnight. Two Apache gunships kept them safe as they were inbound. 750 paratroopers have been on “immediate standby.” Two dozen helicopters were ready to rock and roll.

Trump, unlike Obama, knows the drill — America is the first to the fight and the last to leave.

This mighty display is who America has always been, but has remained dormant under Obama as he attempted to negotiate with hostile Middle Eastern countries and implement progressive diplomatic relations.

It didn’t work.

In fact, not only did it not work, Obama and his top officials lied to the American people about what really happened in Benghazi, claiming that it was a spur-of-the-moment incident over a random Youtube video. It wasn’t until two weeks later that they admitted the incident was coordinated and a well-orchestrated attack.

There were no smoke and mirrors with Trump.

There was no deceptive, weeks-long campaign.

There was only swift action by the president to save Americans at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

And now the Iran-backed militias are retreating, knowing they don’t stand a chance against the army that Trump was about to drop in their backyard.

This is true leadership.
