Tim Allen, a 65 year old actor and comedian doesn’t mind making people mad with his heavy right-leaning Conservative jokes that he like to tell on his TV show, Last Man Standing. In fact he says: “I like pissing people off”.
The fans of Last Man Standing were at a loss in 2017 when ABC decided they would be canceling the show. Many fans though that the reason for the cancellation was because of Tim’s conservative jokes and beliefs. ABC was quick to denied that his political views had anything to do with the cancellation of the show. Though not many fans believed that, since show ratings were quite high.
After ABC tossed Tim and the show to the curb, FOX ended up picking it up on their network, which made fans extremely happy. FOX cares more about TV ratings than political differences, or so it may seem.
Tim has been dishing out some of his own justice where his old network is concerned, and using his promotional stuff for the FOX launch as his rock to throw.
In one of his interviews with Indiewire told them that, although his show has a conservative character, it has always been about a family, not politics. Also that he doesn’t care if his character offends anyone. It just so happens the he really enjoys upsetting the balance of those in Hollywood.
Tim went on to say in his interview:
“I’ve always said that, certainly, relationships are politics. The political discourse between a male and female energy is politics. And children, that’s all political stuff. I like to mess around because I’ve been a standup fiery comic for 30 years.”
What Tim Allen said next was AWESOME!
“I like pissing people off, and I said there’s nothing, especially in this area, that pisses people off more than a very funny conservative. A smart, funny conservative that takes shots and is certainly self-effacing.”
Tim sure has come a long way since his Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor days on the show Home Improvament. Tim says that the Last Man Standing show and character hasn’t even said anything about our current President, and that the left is so quick to be one sided.
“The left-wing point of view is so pervasive that they don’t even realize it’s a point of view. It is just a point of view. I think this character likes that, he likes to have another point of view. It makes him sharper and more interesting. But we don’t push it. I don’t think we’ve mentioned pro or con Trump once now.” Tim said.
With the high ratings of the show on FOX, it’s clear to see that the fans have no issue with his characters political jokes, or Tims political point of view. Keep on rocking those funny jokes Tim, we’re right behind you, laughing all the way up those ratings charts.
