Exciting NEWS!! Chemical in McDonald’s french fries may help cure baldness!

A chemical used in cooking McDonald’s french fries may help eliminate baldness in humans, according to a new study.

Scientists at Yokohama National University in Japan experimented with a silicone called dimethylpolysiloxane to regrow hair on mice. It’s the same chemical added to McDonald’s fry oil to prevent splashing, Newsweek reports.

In the study, published by Biomaterials, it states that a stem cell research team discovered a new method to create “hair follicle germs” (HFGs) using the chemical. Scientists then transplanted the HFGs into the backs of the mice and successfully regrew their hair.

This technique created “5,000 HFGs simultaneously,” the study said.

Preliminary research suggests the same method will be just as successful when it’s used in humans.

“This simple method is very robust and promising,” Professor Junji Fukuda said in the study.” We hope that this technique will improve human hair regenerative therapy to treat hair loss such as androgenic alopecia."
